From Teachers who use the system. One of our early adopters are very impressed with the way the system has been continually improved because we implement all suguestions made by our customers. The Clarendon College in Wiltshire,Mr John Pollard of Clarendon College told us,“Since using the software we have had a significant increase in the number of parents attending parents' evening events as they no longer have to rely on their children to arrange the appointments.”Preston School in Somerset,Mr Peter Moise of Preston School told us,“Preston School have been using the Netmedia on-line booking service for the last two years and have found the web based software extremely efficient. The response from Netmedia to any necessary changes has been extremely positive and changes always fit the purpose. As a SIMS.net school we have found it easy to upload our SIMS data to the Netmedia database; changes to the Netmedia database have made it easy to make changes to staff, students and parents. Our parents have been extremely positive about the system; in a recent survey over 90% of them said that they had little or no problems using the system. This has greatly improved our parental engagement; we have seen attendance at these evenings increase from 70% to 80% over the last two years. Parents now have control over their bookings and in conjunction with regular half termly reports are able to select the staff they wish to see at subject evenings. The time saving for staff has also been beneficial and it also means that time at the start of lessons is no longer wasted with the filling in of appointment forms. Similarly, there is little intervention from our associate staff as the majority of parents complete the appointments on-line. Preston School are please to recommend this product; a product which is now being used by at least 5 schools in Somerset.” Fortrose Academy on the Black Isle, Highlands,Mrs Sue High of Fortrose Academy said“We had extremely positive feedback from parents and teachers about the booking system. It was easy and quick to use and the evening went very smoothly. From an Administrator's point of view it was quick to set up and ironed out all of the problems we were having with our previous paper-based system. We're so happy with it we're recommending it to other Highland schools!”The Blue School in SomersetDeputy Head, Mr John Reay said“When we came across the Netmedia, Parents' Evening Booking System, we could see that, although it was still at a developmental stage, it was going to provide a real and effective solution for the long standing problem of how to reliably co-ordinate and organise the booking of parent appointments for a whole year group of 260 students, in such a way that parents were able to determine who they saw and at times to suit them. Now that we have had full use of the system for several of these events, we have been delighted with the outcome. For the first time we have been able to offer an online booking system to parents which is straightforward to administer and very easy for parents to use. This is borne out by the very positive and encouraging feedback we have received from many parents and carers, about their experience of using the new system. It provides them with a personal itinerary for the evening and gives teachers better information about who they will be meeting and specific issues which may be raised. Gone are the days when children have a piece of paper in their bag, on which to detail the appointments they make and the 'power' to decide which teachers will or will not be seen by their parents.” The Sir John Colfox School in DorsetCathleen Beare said“The Parents' Evening software has revolutionised our appointment booking system by giving more control to parents as to book their own appointments. The facility to leave a comment for discussion is extremely useful to teachers as they can prepare a response in advance.” From Parents.Parents have shown themselves to be very keen, one emailed the Administrator at Handcross School in West Sussex to say, “The new booking system is brilliant, bet it saves your head from aching too. Will we be advised of which room number or will we find out on the night?” St Paul's Catholic College“Brilliant - it worked for me anyway.” Hinchingbrooke School“i think this system works much better than doing it by a piece of paper, this way i get to choose who i want to speak to and i can record any particular issues i want to discuss.” Hinchingbrooke School“A very efficient system - looking forward to parents' evening running like clockwork!
